How to arrive by plane?

Right now, it seems like it is not possible to arrive in Graciosa in a day’s journey. But since you are required to have a negative molecular test result (PCR) for COVID-19, which must not be older than 72 hours, 19 before being allowed to enter the country we suggest the following (as of October 2020):

Book a flight to Lisbon, stay there for 2 nights, and do your first COVID-19 test free of charge in selected laboratories (keep your boarding pass for this procedure). Your second COVID-19 test will then take place here on Graciosa. After another 6 days free of charge – and handled more than smooth.

Since we had this procedure ourselves in June 2020, we will be able to help you with that – feel free to contact us.

Flying from Lisbon (LIS) to Graciosa (GRW) you will have two options - either choose two airlines (

And by ferry?

Unfortunately coming to Graciosa by ferry is not possible in winter.

Rental car, or are there alternatives?

Of course, renting a car ensures a comfortable and independent travelling. You can rent some here:

Pick-up point is either at the airport or the office in Santa Cruz. On request, Riu can organize to have your rental car waiting at the Quinta.

Other means of transportation could be the bus, a cab, or a bicycle. Last can be rented free of charge with us.

Are there shopping facilities?

In the centre of Luz, in 300 m distance, you will find a well-stocked supermarket, same as in Praia with a 5 km distance (butcher included) and Guadalupe with 7 km. Main town is Santa Cruz, in 10 km distance, you will find the largest supermarket, including butcher and fish counter as well as other shops for daily needs.
Almost every other place at the island offers at least a limited selection of groceries.
You will find 3 bakeries in Santa Cruz, who also supply all supermarkets with fresh baked pastries until around 11 am.

How is the cancellation policy?

As cancellations are unpleasant, for both of us, following conditions apply:

A cancellation needs to be made in writing and confirmed by us.

Up to 3 months before arrival the cancellation is free of charge
3 months until 1 month before arrival, the cancellation fee is 25%
1 month until 4 days before arrival, the cancellation fee is 50%
3 days before arrival/late arrival/early departure/No Show, the cancellation fee is 100%

How to pay my bill?

Upon receipt of the booking confirmation, 50% of the total price is due. You can easily transfer this amount to one of our bank accounts – a German and a Portuguese one. Bank details can be found in the booking confirmation.

The remaining 50% are due before or at arrival. Either you can transfer the money before arrival to one of our bank accounts or you will pay cash upon arrival. You will find an ATM for Maestro and credit cards in the main town Santa Cruz (daily limit: 2x 200€).
